  • Moisture and the Air Brake

The RV with air brakes does not require fluid to run. If there is extra moisture, then it can lead to brake failure. The cartridges within air brakes dry up unwanted fluid. Keep in mind that if the cartridges become clogged, then it can cause brake failure. In order to stop the brake failure, you have to check the condition once every two years. Do not forget to drain the air storage tank manually every six months.

Generally, fifth-wheel brakes come with electric brake systems. You should maintain it with proper care. You should check the brake system of the fifth wheel per year. Remember that you must check the magnet arm system to see if there is any sign of worn shoe linings. You can use a cloth to remove debris and dust from the brake. After that, you have to apply lithium grease behind the shoe. You should go to an RV repair company and adjust brakes every year. Remember that this type of brake is not self-adjusting so in order to adjust that, you have to take proper care.
